““Cyranoids are people who do not speak thoughts originating in their own central nervous system: Rather, the words that they speak originate in the mind of another person who transmits these words to the cyranoid by means of a radio transmitter.””

I know what you’re thinking. You’re a jeweler. You’re looking at Apple and thinking, “Technology guys are not going to just figure this out. They’re not going to just walk in.” But here’s Apple, fresh to the watch game and claiming they’ve fixed gold.

I don’t know whether it’s funny because of the idea that Apple could improve on a material that’s been used in jewelry for millennia, or because we’ve got to add metallurgy to the list of areas Apple is now disrupting. Or both. Could it be both?

“Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF-1), also known as von Recklinghausen’s disease, is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder. NF-I vasculopathy has been used to describe various vascular malformations associated with NF-1. Secondary hypertension related to NF-1 vasculopathy has been reported because of renal artery stenosis, coarctation of the abdominal aorta and other vascular lesions; however, coarctation of the thoracic aorta has seldom been reported. We report the first case, to our knowledge, of isolated coarctation of thoracic aorta in a pregnant female with NF-1. Healthcare providers caring for patients with NF-1 should be aware of associated vascular complications.”

"Yeah, honestly Humble Eagles, I was watching the presentation, and I also thought that drawing..."

“Yeah, honestly Humble Eagles, I was watching the presentation, and I also thought that drawing pictures and sending it to your friend, so they get this weird buzz sensation sounded awkward. But then again, kids at the age of 8 and 9 think of Instagram much differently than I do. As crazy as this might sound, Instagram helps to build relationships in real time, even though they’re in close proximity to each other. When I grew up, it was all about Myspace, MSN, AOL and Yahoo Instant Messenger. The web was thought to be dangerous, so people would erect barriers and anonymous accounts against each other. But nowadays, you see kids huddling together at recess posting Instagram pics, and liking the pics, even though they’re sitting right next to each other. I guess, the Apple Watch just contextualizes it a little better, and throws in cool gizmos like smiley adjustments and heartbeats. I think they should have presented that part of the presentation with a pair of 9 year-olds, so all us “grown-ups” could follow along.”
