My Vets are told to come into clinic fasting (for labs) and they all arrive about 15-30 mmHg systolic above their baseline. Invariably they tell me that they did not take their meds that morning because they are told to come fasting. Many of them have 3 hour drives to come to clinic.
As we move towards only qday medications this can make our lives difficult.
I have told them to take their medicine with water except diabetes pills.
Many now monitor their BP's at home and call me with a running tally on occasion.
